CNN Airport Network launched at MIA

CNN Airport Network has launched live streaming of its network at the Miami International Airport (MIA), making its content available throughout the entire airport on multiple devices via the Wi-Fi system.

CNN Airport Network will offer a live simulcast of its 24-hour network as well as Spanish-language content from CNN Latino, a Spanish language programming block airing in key Hispanic markets across the country.

Passengers at MIA can view this content by accessing the airports Wi-Fi network, available not only in the terminal areas but throughout all public areas of the airport as well as the Miami International Airport Hotel, and across a variety of screens including online, mobile and tablet, for both Apple and Android operating systems.

Live streaming capabilities were built in conjunction with Advanced Wireless Group, the wireless provider MIA. airports.

“If you are at a departure gate an hour before your flight looking for entertainment to keep yourself or your kids busy, you now have the option of Spanish-language programming, creating a new value-added service for our passengers,” said Maurice Jenkins, MIA’s Division Director for Information Systems.

“While we operate fee-based Wi-Fi for general Internet access, we continue to expand the menu of free Wi-Fi services for our passengers and this partnership with CNN Airport Network and AWG combines the resources of the global broadcast news leader and premier operator of airport Wi-Fi networks to deliver a first-of-its-kind service that we are proud to introduce to the industry here at MIA.”

Launched in 1991, CNN Airport Network is the only live satellite-delivered airport programming service specifically designed for the busy traveler. CNN Airport Network is available in 50 major airports nationwide, and delivers live daily news from CNN and HLN, original travel features, entertainment programming and live sporting events.
