SQ has unveiled its new Premium Economy Class seats and the in-flight offerings that customers will enjoy when the new cabin class enters service in August.

Singapore Airlines has unveiled its new Premium Economy Class seats and the in-flight offerings that customers will enjoy when the new cabin class enters service in August.

Passengers will enjoy many features over those in standard economy class when they fly on Singapore Airlines’ new premium economy.

Features include:

  • Higher baggage allowance
  • wider seats
  • more legroom
  • in-seat power supply
  • champagne and curated wines
  • a specially-designed collector’s edition amenity kit
  • the world’s most advanced in-flight entertainment system

The benefits are across the entire passenger journey.

Pre-trip

Priority check-in and baggage handling, with a generous baggage allowance of 35kg, will be offered to customers. Members of the KrisFlyer frequent-flyer programme will also receive 10% more miles when they fly in Premium Economy Class.

In-Trip

Seat

Each seat has a width of either 18.5 or 19.5 inches, depending on aircraft type, with an 8-inch recline and a seat pitch of 38 inches.

Together with active noise-cancelling headphones and a sleek 13.3-inch full HD monitor which is the largest in its class, customers can look forward to an enhanced in-flight entertainment experience.SQ-IFE

Other features include a full leather finishing, calf-rest and foot-bar for every seat, individual in-seat power supply, two USB ports, personal in-seat reading light, cocktail table, and more stowage space for personal items.

Food and drink

Premium Economy Class will provide an extensive range of food and beverage offerings, which includes the Premium Economy Book the Cook service, enabling advance ordering of a selection of main courses.

Passengers can look forward to a wide range of in-flight offerings including a Premium Economy Book the Cook service, champagne and curated wines, a specially-designed collector’s edition amenity kit and the world’s most advanced in-flight entertainment system.

In addition to three main courses to choose from on board, customers can select their meals before travel by opting for the Premium Economy Book the Cook service. Choices include Seafood Thermidor, Roasted Chicken in Garlic Cream Sauce, Rosemary Beef Brisket, Roasted Chicken Rice, Pork Congee with Century Egg, Spiced Chicken Nasi Biryani, Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken, and Pancakes with Maple Syrup and Scrambled Eggs.

Passengers will also be able to pair their choice of meal with a glass of Ernest Rapeneau Brut Prestige champagne, which will be available throughout the flight on all routes offering Premium Economy, or pick from a selection of curated wines.

Passengers in Premium Economy Class will also receive an amenity kit that will come in exclusive limited editions, initially featuring SG50 motifs to commemorate Singapore’s 50th birthday. The amenity kit, which consists of a toothbrush, toothpaste and a pair of anti-slip socks, is designed as a collectible item, and pouches can be clipped together.

When can I enjoy it?

Premium Economy Class will be progressively introduced on 19 Airbus A380s, 19 Boeing 777-300ERs and the first 20 Airbus A350s. It will enter commercial service on 9 August 2015 to Sydney, before being introduced to other destinations such as Beijing, Delhi, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, London, Mumbai, New York, Shanghai, Tokyo and Zurich.
