JAL business passengers can book meals in advance

Passengers can book a Japanese menu or a Western menu

Business class passengers on Japan Airlines will soon be able to order their meal in advance.

Japan Airlines (JAL) will introduce the Business Class meal reservation service on its website on certain Transpacific, Europe, Southeast Asia and Oceania routes from 06 April 2016.

Passengers can book either a Japanese menu or a Western menu (beef only) in advance for their first meal during flights.

Passengers can book their meals by going to their flight booking on the  JAL website and selecting the “Meal Reservation” button.

Meals can be booked up to  25 hours before scheduled departure time for outbound flights from Japan and 48 hours before scheduled departure time for inbound flight to Japan.

Earlier this week. Japan Airlines announced that it will introduce a new business class product on its 11 Boeing 777-200ER aircraft from July 2016.

The new seat will be introduced on JAL’s medium-haul international routes, starting with Tokyo (Haneda) – Bangkok.  Then it will be introduced on the Tokyo (Haneda) – Singapore route and will expand onto JAL’s Honolulu route from this winter
