Luxembourg Airport to install 10 ABC eGates

Veridos will install 5 ABC eGates in arrivals and 5 in departures

Luxembourg’s only international airport is to install ten Automated Border Control (ABC) eGates from German company Veridos.

The Police Grand-Ducale Luxembourg are commissioning the ABC eGates to reduce the time taken to check passenger documents while also ensuring high security during the verification of passengers and documents.

The new system will verify passenger identities in about 18 seconds.

The ten ABC eGates are being spread across departure and arrivals, with 5 eGates in each area.

All of the ABC eGates are being installed in 2018.

Labinot Carreti, Veridos Senior Vice President Global Sales:

“We are delighted to be able to support Luxembourg with the most modern border control technology on the market, namely our eGate solution. This will ensure they are well prepared to cope with the increasing number of passengers.”

In addition, the Veridos VeriGO® system will be used in Luxembourg to facilitate the integration of existing infrastructures and databases.

Germain Schmit, project manager for ABC gates of the Luxembourg Police:

“Our border officials have been using VISOTEC® devices to verify identity documents in real time for more than a decade, making the introduction of eGates the next logical step on the road to creating the most safe and innovative border control system possible.”
