Soekarno–Hatta trials self bag drop

Passengers of Batik Air and Citilink can use the new service

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is trialling self bag drop at its Terminal 1C.

The new service means that passengers can use self-service to check-in, print their bagtag and drop their bags at the self bag drop.

To use the self bag drop service passengers scan the barcode on their boarding pass and then place their baggage on the belt.

The system checks the bag (e.g. weight and size) and if it is acceptable, produces a bag tag that the passenger can attach to the bag.

The passenger then scans the barcode in the tag to forward the send the bag to the baggage system.

The bag drop unit then prints a baggage receipt for the passenger.

At the moment the service is available at Terminal 1C for passengers of Batik Air and Citilink.

Passengers at Soekarno-Hatta Terminal 1C can also use a self bag drop service at curbside.
