GDPR compliance

GDPR

GDPR, short for General Data Protection Regulation, is an European Union law that you have likely heard about.

The goal of GDPR is to give EU citizens control over their personal data and change the data privacy approach of organizations across the world.

We believe that PassengerSelfService.com is GDPR compliant as it does not gather any personal data. There are no mailing lists, no adverts.

But like many others we want to make certain and are continuing to work to make sure that it really is absolutely compliant.

Wikipedia

PassengerSelfService.com has always tried to be as honest and ethical as possible.

There is no gathering of data, no mailing lists, no adverts. It is just a news site covering a fairly narrow area of the airline passenger industry.

About two years ago, we published a very small story about the International Airport in Qatar.

It had a picture of part of the inside of the airport. The picture came from commons.wikipedia and we credited the image to Wikipedia. The picture itself was just another version of the most pictured area of  the airport. There are many pictures of that teddy bear. But, years later, someone claimed that we had used his picture without credit. We did not doubt the claim about our possible very small mistake.

As soon as we were told about it we immediately removed the story.

We are working through all images on the site to see if there are any other such potential mistakes.

This is going to take a substantial amount of time. We do not have the resources of Facebook.
