Narita International Airport has launched an airport app for foreign visitors to Japan, called Tabimori – Travel Amulet.
The site provides a wide range of information and links for international travelers visiting Japan, including information on travel to and from Narita Airport, a collection of phrases translated into Japanese, actions to take in the event of an earthquake, and travel tips on some of the unique rules and etiquette practised in Japan.
Tabimori will be available in English, Chinese (simplified and traditional) and Korean.
It will be accessible by computer via the Narita Airport website, by smartphone at http://inbound.narita-airport.jp/index.php, and QR code. It will also display automatically when connecting to free-access Wi-Fi services in the Arrivals lobbies of Narita Airport’s two terminals.
Tabimori – airport app
The name “Tabimori” is a combination of the Japanese words for “trip/journey” and “amulet/good luck charm.” Narita hopes that the site will be “a convenient tool and good luck charm on a comfortable journey” for travelers departing from the airport.

Narita International Airport is run by NAA ( Narita International Airport Corporation).
In a statement, NAA said that it is participating with other relevant organisations in the drive to create a comfortable environment for overseas visitors under the auspices of a working group on services at airports for visitors from abroad, established by the Japan Tourism Agency.
With the growing popularity of smartphones among visitors to Japan, NAA hopes the site will effectively supply information that will be useful during their stays in Japan by enabling automatic connection to the site via the free-access wireless LAN network available at Narita Airport.
