Delhi Airport launches new flyDEL mobile app

Provides passengers flight information and access to facilities available at the airport.

Delhi International Airport (DEL) has launched a new app named flyDEL that aims to improve the passenger experience at the airport.

The app aims to provide passengers with real-time flight information and access to all the passenger facilities available at the airport.

It is available for both Android and iOS devices, covering the majority of smart phone users in India.

The app lists various categories:

  • flights
  • services
  • food and beverages
  • navigation
  • shopping

Flights is about allocation of baggage belts, check-in rows and boarding gates.

Services is about facilities like baggage, drinking water, ATMs, money exchange, medical needs, immigration processes, car parking, recreation and applicable tariffs.

The app also offers detailed information for passengers requiring special needs assistance for Persons with Restricted Mobility (PRM), lost & found, travelling with kids, left luggage and valet parking.

I Prabhakara Rao, chief executive officer at Delhi International Airport, said:

“The smart and tech savvy travellers as well as first-time users can make the best use of the wide range of facilities available at the airport by using the app. The app is based on a very specific technology that takes care of the real needs of the various categories of fliers to make their journey a pleasant and hassle-free affair. “

Delhi plans to further enhance the app by making it more interactive and dynamic by adding features like cab and hotel bookings, latest shopping offers at the airport and interactive 3D navigation.
