KLM launches its KLM Media App

Passengers can download 30 hours before flight

Passengers on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines are now able to access a range of international newspapers and magazines on their smartphone or tablet.

By using the new KLM Media App passengers can download Dutch and international publications optimised for reading on smartphones and tablets, at no extra charge.

The number of newspapers passengers are able to download depends on their travel class and Flying Blue level.

With the app, passengers can download newspapers from 24 hours before departure.

KLM is offering a choice of thirteen newspapers to launch the app:

  • Holland Herald
  • Air France Magazine
  • Financieel Dagblad
  • Telegraaf
  • Trouw
  • Volkskrant
  • Le Monde
  • International New York Times
  • USA Today
  • Financial Times
  • Wallstreet Journal
  • Die Welt
  • El Pais
  • China News Weekly
  • China Times

KLM’s own inflight magazine, Holland Herald, is also available in the app.

More papers and magazines will be added in future.

The app is available worldwide in Dutch, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Simplified Taiwanese.

Ryanne van der Eijk, Senior Vice President Customer Experience KLM:

“The KLM Media App is yet another improvement to the service KLM offers its passengers. The app means a selection of newspapers is always to hand, up-to-date and available for all passengers, both on European and intercontinental flights. We are also exploring the possibility of expanding the app to become a complete entertainment app, including films and series.”
