Vision-Box installing ABC eGates at Hamad in Qatar

Vision-Box is deploying 64 eGates at Hamad Qatar.

Vision-Box is to install ABC eGates at Hamad International Airport.

The Portuguese company has been awarded the contract and is currently deploying 64 multimodal eGates.

All will be equipped with face, iris and fingerprint biometric readers and will be installed at all terminals of the Hamad International Airport.

The Hamad International Airport (HIA) aims to be a landmark Airport for both the Middle-East region and the rest of the world and a cornerstone for the economic development of Qatar.

It will be equipped with Vision-Box vb i-match5 eGates and operated by the Vision-Box front-end Border-Control application, vb Inspector.

HIA is expected to be fully operational and for Qatar Airways to move to HIA in the fourth quarter of 2013.

The multimodal eGate (face, iris and fingerprint biometric validation), will ensure a speedy passage time with 100% accuracy, offering state of the art automated border control to several different passenger profiles, while making sure that the border is secure and that the passenger has a pleasant experience.

Jean-François Lennon, Director of International Business Development at Vision-Box, says that this contract is the largest deployment of multimodal ABC eGates in the region, at a single site.
