Iberia and Vueling passengers can now use their portable electronic devices (PEDs) throughout the entire flight, from taxi,to take-off, to landing.
Devices that can be used in “Airplane Mode” include smartphones, tablets, e-readers, MP3 players and more. For safety reasons, devices without “Airplane Mode” must remain switched off for the duration of the flight.
Both companies have just received authorization from the State of Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) so that their passengers may have activated in “airplane mode” the devices during takeoff, taxiing and landing phases.
Other European airlines allowing the use of PEDs include Air France, British Airways, Tap Air Portugal and Lufthansa (on 747-8).
In addition, Business and Economy passengers travelling in Iberia new long-haul cabins will soon be able to enjoy Wi-Fi and data connection on board.
By the end of 2015 all Iberia Airbus A340-600 and A330-300 aircraft will feature new cabins with Wi-Fi and data connection.
