Passengers departing from Frankfurt can now watch full-length movies at the airport before their flight.
Germany’s busiest airport has introduced a new service called Movie Worlds. It means that passengers can watch blockbuster movies at Frankfurt Airport before taking off.
In a departure from relentlessly forcing passengers to shop before flying, the free service provides another way for passengers to pass the time before boarding their flights.
Movie Worlds has a selection of full-length movies, documentaries and popular series. All can be watched in various languages and, like on board aircraft, are all suitable for the whole family.
A selection of full-length movies, documentaries and TV series, is available for free in two Movie Worlds in Piers A and Z in Terminal 1.
Like a living room
The “Movie World” brings the relaxed atmosphere of the domestic living room to the airport: Comfortable seating for up to three people each is grouped on a carpet floor around a television. The arrangement in niches is intended to provide additional privacy. The offer is multilingual and family friendly.
Passengers can decide whether they want to hear the sound via headphones themselves or via integrated loudspeakers. The films can be started at any time and individually and are therefore not bound to a fixed program start.
Movie World can be found in level 2 at gate A58 and level 3 at gate Z58. The two Movie World areas in Terminal 1 can accommodate 22 people in eight separate TV corners.
Second Gaming World opened
Passengers who prefer playing video games will be able to enjoy a wider variety of games with the opening of the new second Gaming World. Besides controller-based games like FIFA, NBA and various racing games, it features an interactive screen with a gesture-controlled game that can be played free-of-charge.
The two “Gaming Worlds” are located on level 2 opposite the gate A52 and on level 3 opposite the gate Z52.
