New South African airline LIFT takes off

LIFT usp is flexibilty

New South African airline LIFT has made it maiden flight.

The new airline flew from Johannesburg to Cape Town on 10 December 2020.

To start with, LIFT is operating two routes:

  • between Johannesburg and Cape Town
  • between Johannesburg and George

LIFT plans to increase the routes when it sees the demand.

The airline is owned by Johannesburg-based leasing company Global Airways.

LIFT is using 3 Airbus A320 aircraft from Global.

Flexible Air Travel

The unique selling point of LIFT is flexibility.

Passengers can change flights multiple times or cancelled and get a credit into their LIFT wallet.

Changes made 24 hours or more in advance‚ come at no additional fees or penalties. If the fare for the new flight is higher‚ passengers just pay the difference.

If the new fare is lower, LIFT credits the passenger.

Name changes are free.

Passengers can check-in early and if an earlier flight has availability they can travel on it an no extra cost.
