Emirates implements IATA Travel Pass across its network

Emirates is the first airline to implement the IATA Travel Pass solution across its global network.

In April 2021 Emirates started trials on some routes from its Dubai base. It then expanded the trial to passengers on 12 routes in June.

The airline is now implementing the solution across its global network.

Currently available to Emirates passengers travelling from 50 cities, the roll-out across all 120+ Emirates destinations is expected to be completed by October.

What is IATA Travel Pass?

IATA Travel Pass is a mobile app that helps passengers to store and manage their verified certifications for COVID-19 tests or vaccines.

  • it enables passengers to find accurate information on travel, testing, and vaccine requirements for their journey
  • it enables passengers to access certified COVID-19 testing centres at their departure location which meet the requirements of their destination
  • it allows passengers to manage their travel documentation digitally.

Passengers today can access over 1,500 COVID-19 test labs via the IATA Travel Pass app.

As expected, the IATA Travel Pass is becoming the industry standard – which is what IATA does.

Emirates and IATA don’t say if or how they manage, control or contribute to the costs
