Japanese regional airline, Hokkaido Air System, has retired its last Saab 340.
The aircraft was also the last Saab 340 flying commercially in Japan.
The last commercial flight, with registration JA02HC, was on 26 December 2021.
A planned Goodbye Charted Flight on 27 December was cancelled due to bad weather.
On 29 December the aircraft made a ferry flight from Okadama Airport to Kagoshima Airport.
The airline now operates a fleet of 3 ATR 42 aircraft.
Hokkaido Air System is a regional airline that operates scheduled services in Hokkaidō and Aomori Prefecture, Japan from it main base at Okadama Airport in Higashi-ku, Sapporo.
It is a private company controlled by Japan Airlines. It has been flying since 1997 and had 85 employees in April 2021.
