ITA Airways, Italy’s new national carrier, has taken delivery of its first A350, becoming the 40th operator of the type.
The aircraft is on lease from Kuwaiti leasing company ALAFCO.
Cabin layout
ITA Airways’ A350 cabin has 334 seats in a two-class layout.
- Business has 33 fully lie-flat beds in a 1-2-1
- Economy has 301 seats in a 3-3-3 layout
Routes
The airline plans to start A350 operations in early June with flights between Rome Fiumicino and Los Angeles, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo.
ITA fleet
ITA is an all-Airbus airline. It currently has a fleet of 57 Airbus aircraft:
- 18 A319
- 28 A320
- 7 A330
- 1 A350
In December 2021, the Italian carrier firmed up an order for 28 Airbus, including 18 Single Aisle (seven A220s, 11 A320neos) and 10 A330neos.
ITA Airways is the ‘new’ version of Alitalia and is wholly owned by the Italian government. It’s even got the Alitalia IATA code of AZ.
