easyJet trials free access to its Gatwick lounge

For 3 hours in the North Terminal

easyJet is offering certain passengers free entry to the Gateway Lounge at Gatwick airport.

Passengers buying a FLEXI fare are able to enjoy up to three hours in the lounge for a trial period from now until 30 November.

Located in the North Terminal, where easyJet is the largest airline, it is the first lounge by the airline and was opened in October 2021.

The Gateway lounge has a range of features passengers can enjoy before their flight:

  • a buffet with hot and cold food
  • hot and cold drinks, including tea, coffee and wine
  • free Wifi
  • areas to work with convenient charging points
  • lounge soft-seating for relaxing with refreshments,
  • a TV den and games room

During the trial period, all passengers buying a FLEXI fare automatically receive lounge access, including those who have already booked flights between these dates.

FLEXI fare

easyJet’s FLEXI fare is a bundled fare that includes a large cabin bag, a 23kg hold bag, Up Front seat, dedicated bag drop, Fast Track Security (at most major airports), Speedy Boarding, flight and route changes, and a £7.95 voucher to spend on board.

FLEXI fares can though cost 10 times more than the standard fare.

Example: Flight from LGW to GLA on 07 September 2022.

On 04/09/22 the Standard fare is £50.99. That gives passengers a seat, allocated by easyJet, and a small cabin bag like a small rucksack.

The FLEXI fare is £453.99 – NINE times the Standard fare.

Ali Gayward, UK Country Manager for easyJet:

“We are always looking for new ways to offer travellers more choice and great value, so we’re delighted to have launched this trial, offering FLEXIfare customers travelling from London Gatwick access to The Gateway Lounge between now and November, in addition to the great range of extras our customers enjoy when they book a FLEXIfare.

“The Gateway Lounge offer all the essentials to make work a breeze, or somewhere for the whole family to relax and unwind before jetting off. So, whatever the reason for travel, the lounge is the destination for customers wanting to get their trip off to a perfect start.”

It’s not an exclusive lounge – anyone can pay to enter

Other easyJet passengers can also book the lounge, in advance, with prices starting from £27.99 for three hours.

All passengers travelling through Gatwick Airport North Terminal can pay to use the lounge regardless of airline or travel class. They get to pay more like £34.00 for the same three hours.
