Pick up your groceries on arrival at Melbourne Airport

Passengers arriving in Melbourne can order their grocery shopping and collect it on arrival.

MEL click & collectMelbourne Airport (MEL) has paired with Woolworths supermarket to launch a grocery pickup service. Passengers order their grocery shopping online or through a dedicated mobile application and collect it on arrival at MEL.

The click&collect service is the first of its kind at an Australian hub (and in the world), with customers able to pre-order their shopping online or through a dedicated mobile application.

Customers can order their groceries up to seven days in advance and the collection point is in the terminal forecourt.

Woolworths Supermarkets Head of Online Business Development Kate Langford said: “We know that going to the supermarket after a family holiday, business trip or long day of travel can be a chore for many customers. This service is a new way that we can help to make our customers’ lives that little bit easier by giving them a very convenient way to shop.

“Melbourne Airport is the second busiest in the country and the Sydney to Melbourne route is the fourth busiest in the world so we are excited to work with Melbourne Airport to launch this new service.”

Customers can collect their purchases seven days a week, between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm, with personal shoppers hand selecting and packing every order.

Melbourne Airport CEO Chris Woodruff added: “We were very pleased to work with Woolworths on this innovative new service. Passengers using Melbourne Airport will be the first in Australia to experience this revolution in supermarket shopping.

“With approximately 80,000 passengers travelling through Melbourne Airport every day, we know the Woolworths airport click&connect service will appeal to many busy travellers. In addition, the new service will provide a convenient way for the more than 14,000 people who work on the Melbourne Airport precinct to complete their grocery shopping.”
