British Airways is rolling out its popular pre-order meal service for passengers on long-haul flights from Gatwick.
The service, which was successfully introduced from Heathrow in 2014, is now available on direct long-haul flights from Gatwick for passengers travelling in First, Club World and World Traveller Plus.
The service enables passengers to pre-order their main meal before they fly so they can guarantee their first meal choice.
Troy Warfield, British Airways’ director of customer:
“Our pre-order option from Heathrow has proved popular with customers as it means they’re always guaranteed their meal choice, so we’re pleased to be able to expand the service further to long-haul flights from Gatwick.
“We know this kind of service is exactly what our customers want. It only takes a couple of minutes to do via the ‘manage my booking’ tab on ba.com and frees them up on board to concentrate on what they want or need to do, be that working or relaxing.”
Passengers can select their meal between 24 hours and 30 days before their flight, using ‘manage my booking’ on ba.com.
The service will come as an extra treat for passengers who are travelling on one of the airline’s new routes from Heathrow or Gatwick, which include San Jose (from May 4) and Tehran (July 14) and from Gatwick to Costa Rica (April 27), New York (May 1), Lima (May 4) and Cape Town (November 24).
The pre-order service is available on long-haul routes from Gatwick with exception of indirect flights that go via another destination. These include Grenada, Providenciales (Turks and Caicos), Saint Kitts and Tobago.
