Dubai opens airport sleep lounge

A total of 27 pods and cabins are available and bookings can be made online

Passengers flying through Terminal 3 at Dubai International (DXB) now have more options to get some rest with the launch of the sleep ‘n fly lounge, offering a total of 27 pods and cabins.

Scandinavian-designed for comfort and style, DXB’s new sleep lounge features 20 state-of-the-art ‘igloo’ sleep pods, plus seven double cabins with pull-out children’s beds.

Passengers book online at sleep-n-fly.com. They are escorted to their Pod/Cabin by a member of staff and woken up at an agreed time.

Lounge facilities include a small waiting area for both arriving and departing guests, as well as a unisex changing room with a baby changing facility.

The pods/cabins are not a hotel room. But they are a calm, pleasant and secure place to sleep for an hour, a whole night or any time in between.

Igloo pod

Igloo pod features include:

  • a 90°-180° seat to flat-bed
  • a 200 x 74 cm padded surface area for a good sleep
  • carry-on baggage storage
  • LED lighting with dimmer switch
  • international power socket/USD charger
  • tinted sliding side windows
  • a solid wooden folding table (desk
  • a slim storage area for tablets or mobile phones

Each Igloo comes with a disposable cover for the head rest; pillows, blankets and other amenities are optionally available.

Cabins

Cabin features include:

  • a full size (140 x 200 cm) double bed
  • comfortable mattress
  • luxurious bed linen
  • 100% cotton and vibrant teal pillow cases
  • reading lights
  • a coat hanger
  • full-size mirror
  • bedside table
  • carry-on baggage storage
  • a fold-down table

Families travelling with a small child will love the pull-out mattress drawer from under the bed offering a safe and separate 115 x 55 cm kid’s bed for the little one.

Each Cabin is centrally air-conditioned, lockable from the inside, and with sound-proofed walls.

Location

In Terminal 3, opposite Gate A1 in Concourse A. There are showers, toilets and restaurants nearby.

24 hours, 7 days a week.

Prices

Prices are different if the stay is in daytime or nighttime and are calculated by the hour.

“Igloo” pods are for individual passengers. At night-time (2200 until 1200), they cost $20 for one hour going up to $130 for 12 hours. In day-time (1200 until 2200), price is $17 for an hour and $130 for 12 hours.

“Yawn” cabins (for single or double use) are as $74 for two hours under the night-time package, going up to $271 for 12 hours. The day-time cost is $60 for two hours and $271 for 12 hours.
