Canada’s Porter Airlines has expanded its deal with Viasat and will equip 20 new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft with Viasat’s in-flight connectivity (IFC) solution.
Passengers on Porter Airlines E195-E2 aircraft have free onboard Wi-Fi to access the internet, or enjoy curated movies & TV from the onboard offering.
The airline currently has 21 E195s in service with 29 more on order – so 50 in total.
The ViaSat deal follows after Porter contracted Viasat in 2021, for IFC on 30 E195-E2 aircraft. The majority of these are installed and operating today.

Porter Airlines Embraer E195s have a single class layout with 132 seats in a 2 x 2 layout over 33 rows.

Powered by Viasat’s Ka-band satellite technology and efficient use of bandwidth, connected Porter passengers aboard its Embraer E195-E2 aircraft are able to stream video or music, browse websites, use email or apps — all on their own personal electronic devices.
The in-flight Wi-Fi also enables access to a wide array of free streaming entertainment, including movies and popular TV series.
Additionally, Porter Airlines’ in-flight Wi-Fi service is available gate-to-gate.
