Air Canada starts coach linking Hamilton and Kitchener airports with Toronto Pearson

Air Canada is now offering a convenient and seamless travel option for passengers departing from Hamilton (YHM) and Kitchener (YKF) airports to Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and beyond.

The airline has started a branded luxury motorcoach service between Hamilton and Kitchener airports and Toronto Pearson .

Passengers can book their entire journey, including the coach segment, on a single Air Canada itinerary for a hassle-free passenger experience.

The coach trip is effectively a flight segment but operated by a bus. The booking information will display both the flight and motorcoach service. The connection through Toronto will show “operated by The Landline Company.”.

What passengers can expect

  • Single Itinerary Booking: Passengers can book their entire journey, including the coach segment, on a single Air Canada itinerary for a hassle-free travel experience.
  • Six Daily Round Trips: Passengers can enjoy six non-stop round trips daily between Hamilton, Kitchener, and Toronto Pearson, making connecting flights a breeze.
  • Premium Motorcoach Service: Air Canada-branded motorcoaches provide a comfortable and smooth ride, connecting seamlessly with the passenger’s flights.

Hamilton is on Lake Ontario, close to Niagara Falls and Buffalo. Kitchener is inland from Hamilton. Both are just over 100km from Toronto. The trip time to Toronto Pearson is about one hour.

This integrated service is a trial initiative from John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport and the Kitchener / Region of Waterloo International Airport, with the potential to make it available elsewhere in Canada in the future.

How it Works

  • Passengers check in as usual at their departure airport and receive boarding passes for their entire trip.
  • They print bagtags and tag their bags to their final destination.
  • Passengers board the Air Canada-branded motorcoach, their bags go on the same coach.
  • Upon arrival in Toronto Pearson, passengers proceed to the regular baggage drop area.

In the event of coach or flight delays, passengers travelling on Landline will be automatically rebooked like passengers travelling on air-only itineraries.

Trial booking

I tried a booking from Hamilton to Toronto Pearson for Monday 03 June 2024 – one way.

It says ‘Includes travel operated by THE LANDLINE COMPANY INC.’ It doesn’t say the trip from Hamilton to Toronto Pearson is on a bus. It’s only when the passenger clicks a details button (if they see it). Nothing about bags.
