Gatwick passengers can download Movies on the Move

Films can be downloaded for a fee in upper South Terminal departure lounge.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and UK airport advertising specialist Eye Airports have teamed up with Vizeum and Posterscope to offer families the chance to download films to their phone, tablet or device ahead of their departures from Gatwick Airport.

From 10th August, passengers will be able to buy and download films from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s ‘Movies on the Move’ selection, which offers blockbusters for all ages including Penguins of Madagascar, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief and more, with ease.

The films will be available to download via a free, high-speed, wireless, broadband connection in the children’s soft play area, located in the upper South Terminal departure lounge.

How it works

On entering the digital download zone and connecting to Movies on the Move Wi-Fi, passengers’ devices will automatically link to the Fox digital movie download page.

From there, passengers can select a film and download it directly via their preferred platform – iTunes, Google Play, Blinkbox or Amazon Instant Video – in under 10 minutes (for standard definition) or under 20 minutes (for high definition).

Promotional staff will be on hand for the first two days of the two-week promotion to provide advice and technical assistance.

Beau Dallon, Head of Agency Sales at Eye Airports, said:

“This is a truly unique and innovative project which combines highly relevant context with great technology, enabling families to download movies quickly and hassle free.

“Many package holiday and short haul flights do not offer in-flight entertainment so this is an ideal way to source movies to watch on a personal device, not just on the plane but also at the airport and whilst on holiday. The campaign once again proves how airports can offer huge benefits to advertisers, providing passengers with a unique experience at the right time and in the right place.”

Samantha Haycock, Head of Catalogue Marketing at Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, added:

“Our Movies on the Move are the perfect way for families to get their summer holiday underway. We look forward to entertaining thousands of passengers this August.”

Media planning and buying was handled by Posterscope and Vizeum. The creative was developed by Tea and mobile content by Substance.
