CLEAR expands to Reagan National and Dulles International

New option for passengers to cut the wait at security checkpoints

Reagan National and Dulles International airports have introduced the CLEAR registered traveler program.

The Washington airports have added this new option for passengers prepared to pay to jump to the front of the security screening lines.

CLEAR members use kiosks in dedicated security lanes to scan their boarding pass and provide a fingerprint or iris scan to instantly verify their identity.

From the kiosk, passengers will be escorted directly into the checkpoint by a CLEAR representative.

Kiosks at Reagan National have been activated at the Gates 10-22 checkpoint (Alaska, Delta and United), with other checkpoints available soon. Kiosks at Dulles International are located alongside the Pre-Check checkpoint (all airlines) in the center of the Main Terminal departures level.

Passengers who are also enrolled in TSA Pre-Check will have the added benefit of directly entering the Pre-Check screening area after CLEAR identity verification.

Tu use CLEAR, passengers have to enrol which is fast and easy in airport terminals and at other CLEAR locations.

Airport enrollment kiosks at Reagan National and Dulles International are being activated near security checkpoint entrances, and the sign-up process takes just a few minutes. Once enrolled, CLEAR can be used immediately. Consult clearme.com for complete enrollment requirements.

With the addition of CLEAR, there are several options for passengers to pay for reduced security wait times at Reagan National and Dulles International:

  • CLEAR – A one-month free trial and enrollment opportunities ranging from $79 up to $179 per year; accepted at a growing number of airports and sports venues and immediately available upon enrollment.
  • TSA Pre-Check – $85 per 5 years; accepted at numerous airports. Expedited screening process.
  • Global Entry – $100 per 5 years; a program for expedited U.S. Customs processing that has the added benefit of automatic TSA Pre-Check enrollment.

How it works

Step 1: Passengers register their details, pay an annual fee and get a CLEARcard. Passengers have to verify their ID by allowing their fingerprints and iris image to be captured and stored by CLEAR.

Step 2: At the airport passengers insert their CLEARcard into a CLEAR kiosk, the kiosk verifies the passenger is the one registered by scanning their retinas and fingerprints

Step 3: A CLEAR representative escorts the passenger to the front of the physical screening line.

The cost

Passengers pay an annual fee of USD 179.
