Delhi staff can now check-in passengers by mobile devices

Can be used for both domestic and international check in

Delhi International Airport has launched a portable check-in system.

The hand-held mobile devices act as a portable check-in counter in addition to the self-service check-in kiosks at the airport.

The devices are common use, meaning that all airlines operating from both terminals can check in their passengers away from the self-service kiosks.

They also have a bluetooth-based printer for boarding pass printing.

The devices can be used for both domestic and international check in at the airport.

Passengers carrying hand baggage can directly make their way for security check. Those carrying registered baggage will have to go to the traditional counters to drop their bags.

Trials over recent months showed that an average of 8 to 10% of passengers used the new system.

Jet Airways and Vistara airlines have been using the portable device since the beginning of the trial period
