Porter service at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport’s Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 is now available for free.
In a world where airlines and airports seem to be charging for every tiny item it is great to see an airport provide a really useful service for free.
Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, the 18th busiest airport in the world in 2015, has introduced a free porter service at Terminals 1 and 2.
The Airport Helper service started today (01 September) and replaces the paid porter service.
Until now, passengers at the two terminals had to pay a fee if they used the service to carry their baggage.
Both the trolley and the Airport Helper are free and passengers are asked not to tip.
The free service also aims to eliminate unofficial transactions at the airport.
The Airport Helper service is operated by PT Angkasa Pura Solusi, a subsidiary of state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II.
