Kenya Airways to deploy IFE on its Boeing 737 fleet

Installing wireless IFE on its 12 Boeing 737 aircraft

Kenya Airways is to deploy a wireless inflight entertainment system on its Boeing 737-700 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Kenya’s flag carrier has chosen to introduce Everhub from Irish company Inflight Dublin.

Everhub is a cutting-edge inflight entertainment system that enables passengers to engage with entertainment, on-board retail and destination services via their mobile device or laptop.

Via these devices, the passenger can stream video and audio files, read publications, review city guides and view a live moving map. They can also review duty-free and snack-bar products and plan and book destination services.

Everhub is housed in a lunchbox-sized unit that’s stowed in an overhead locker. With swappable rechargeable batteries, each unit can provide 12 hours of streamed content to 60+ passengers simultaneously.

John White, Inflight Dublin’s CEO:

“We are delighted to further expand our relationship with Kenya Airways. We’ve created a bespoke wireless system that helps to accelerate the brand and passenger experience. Working closely with Kenya Airways and supporting their vision is at the heart of what we do. We are pleased to offer Kenya Airways the latest available movies, TV shows, and audio programming, as well as a range of information services on their scheduled flights.

Inflight Dublin has a long-standing relationship with Kenya Airways, as the company provides all inflight content for the past 3 years. Utilising this expertise, the company will synergise their current IFE content across airline’s wireless fleet.

Inflight Dublin has also announced enhancements to its wireless IFE product line, including a native app (KQ Cinema), which enables Kenya Airways to showcase DRM content such as Hollywood Movies.

KQ Cinema will be available on board Kenya Airways selected fleet in the upcoming weeks.
