Canadian startup Canada Jetlines has taken delivery of its first aircraft.
The Airbus A320-200 is on lease from Jackson Square Aviation.
The airline plans to start operations in early 2022 with flights from Canada to sun and leisure destinations in the southern US, Caribbean and Mexico.
The privately owned airline intends to base its fleet on the A320 and expects to increase its fleet to 15 by 2025.
Brad Warren, VP Maintenance Operations for Canada Jetlines:
“This is a milestone day for our team as we get to witness the inception of our branded fleet, with the delivery of our first aircraft.
“We have collectively been building towards this moment and we couldn’t be happier to partner with Jackson Square Aviation as we prepare for take-off early next year.”
There is not yet much information about routes and dates but the first flights are expected to be from Toronto in Spring 2022.
