UK start up airline Hans Airways has selected Moment to supply inflight entertainment (IFE) on its single aircraft.
Hans Airways is a privately-owned airline and expects to begin commercial flights later in 2022.
At the moment the airline has a single aircraft – a leased ex-Air Europa Airbus A330-200. It started proving flights in August.
The airline is installing the IFE system, Flymingo ahead of revenue operations. Passengers will be able to connect with a variety of content, including films, TV shows, infotainment or games streamed directly from passengers’ own devices.
Hans Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer Martin Dunn:
“Flymingo Box technology will enable passengers to access intuitively and immediately a range of digital services during their journey. We will also promote our loyalty program, FlyHAPEEI, on the passenger portal.”
Moment is a French company that provides entertainment, e-commerce and connectivity services for the air transport industry.
Flymingo presents a compact and powerful server. As an autonomous solution, Flymingo Box adapts to non-connected environments and does not require any additional connectivity, operating with its own Wi-Fi network.
Dieudonné Kamaté, Business Development Director at Moment:
“We are excited to contribute to the creation of the passenger experience aboard Hans Airways’ aircraft.
“Flymingo Box is a cost-effective solution which adapts perfectly to all airlines, regardless of fleet size, and which easily brings digital services on board.
“As a leading inflight entertainment solution, we are sensitive to our customers’ needs, striving to help them build an unforgettable and differentiating experience with unmatched performance.”
About Hans Airways
The plan is to fly between Birmingham and secondary cities in India for which there is high demand.
The first route will likely be a four times weekly service between Birmingham and Amritsar in North India. Amritsar is a major commercial and cultural centre in the heart of Punjab.
Hans Airways A330 has 298 seats in a two class layout.
- Economy class with a 31-inch seat pitch and 274 seats
- Premium Economy (called “Anand Plus”), offering a 56″ pitch and 24 seats.
The airline will offer high quality complementary inflight entertainment and catering as standard.
At the time of writing it is not possible to book or even see routes on the airline’s website. It does though show Milan as the only destination.
