Lufthansa opens new Panorama lounge at Frankfurt Airport

Terminal 1 lounge capacity increases by 40 percent

Lufthansa passengers with lounge access can now enjoy a more relaxed lounge stay before their departure from Frankfurt Terminal 1A Schengen area.

A few years back I arrived into Frankfurt after an 18 hour flight from Buenos Aires via São Paulo. I was in 4D, in Business Class on a 747. But the seat wasn’t lie flat, it was angled and not great for sleeping. The entertainment system on my side of Business was broken for the entire flight. I only went to Argentina for 2 days and was transiting back to Geneva with a three hour stopover. Horrible weather on a March morning.

What I needed was a good, long, hot shower. Off I went to the lounge expecting wonderful, efficient German service. Only to be told there was a three-hour wait for the showers!

Hopefully the opening of a new lounge at Frankfurt Terminal 1A Schengen area means stories like mine won’t not heard so often.

As a result of the high demand for the two existing Business lounges in this area, the German airline has opened a new Panorama Lounge with an additional 1,100 square meters. This will increase the number of seats available in the area by 40 percent.

The lounge, which differs from the usual Lufthansa design, has a spacious main area with many seating options as well as a food and beverage buffet.

It also offers several smaller rooms for working or relaxing, a smoking area, additional buffets, a relaxation room and four showers. Why only four showers???

The lounge is called the Panorama Lounge as it has a view of the Frankfurt Airport apron.

Location

Opposite Gate A26

Hours

The Panorama Lounge is open from Mondays to Fridays between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.
