Passengers at New York’s JFK Airport Terminal 4 can now access a new suite of services to make the passenger experience as good as possible.

The services include:

  • baggage storage
  • baggage porting
  • lost and found
  • information services
  • a meet and greet service

JFKIAT, the operator of JFK T4, and Smarte Carte are partnering to deliver the new passenger services.

The services are staffed by employees throughout the terminal dressed in easily recognizable uniforms, and passengers can find storefronts throughout the building to access these offerings as well.

Baggage storage

Passengers can drop off bags for storage when they get to the airport or by prebooking.

Payment is made at drop off and is based on item size and quantity.

Understandably, a lot of information is needed to make a booking, including name, address, phone, passport details, picture ID, real time picture and boarding pass.

Baggage porter

Smart Carte staff will transport bags to where passengers need to go. This service is available for passengers arriving, departing or transferring terminals.

Passengers can find the porters on the curbside or in customs halls.

Lost and found

A fairly typical lost and found service. Passengers fill in a form online with all the details they have about the missing item. The lost and found staff hunt for the item and, if they find it, they store it and help passengers get it back as soon as possible.

Information services

This service provides travel and information about the various services and amenities at the terminal. For example, directions around the airport, where to catch the train etc.

Meet and greet

The new meet and greet service allows passengers to pre-book an escort to assist at Arrivals for elderly individuals, families with children, individuals with disabilities, and others.

The escort can help with transit to other terminals, transportation pick up points, gate or rental car via Air Train.

It costs $350.00 for 2.5 hours for up to 4 passengers with up to 8 checked or carry on bag.

About JFKIAT and JFK T4

T4 is the largest terminal at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and the only privately operated terminal in the United States

The operator is JFKIAT, a U.S. affiliate of Amsterdam based Royal Schiphol Group. Perhaps best to keep that quiet given the absolute fiasco that Schiphol has been since April 25 this year (2022).

JFK T4 is used by a large number of airlines including:

  • SkyTeam members – Delta, KLM, Aeromexico, China Eastern, Kenya Airways, Xiamen Air, Air Europa, China Airlines, ITA
  • Others – Aviana, Copa, LATAM, Singapore Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Emirates, Etihad, Hawaiian and more.
