Air China, China Eastern and China Southern get ARJ21

First deliveries to China's three largest airlines

Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines have received their first COMAC ARJ21 aircraft.

The simultaneous delivery of the three aircraft marks the official entry of ARJ21 aircraft into the fleets of international mainstream airlines.

The three ARJ21 aircraft delivered to Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines are in all economy-class configurations with seats for 90 passengers. Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines will respectively receive three ARJ21 aircraft in succession this year.

This marks a significant step in the ARJ21 program as these are the three largest airlines in China.

The ARJ21 aircraft is the first short-medium range turbofan regional aircraft independently developed by China. It has a layout of 78 to 90 seats, and a range of 2,225 to 3,700 kilometers.

Chengdu Airlines (EU) was the first operator of the aircraft in Q2, 1016.
