Austrian Airlines passengers can pre-order meals


Austrian Airlines economy class passengers can now pre-order meals on all short- and medium-haul flights.

Passengers can pre-order food on flights of 50 to 180 minutes, into and out of Vienna.

The Austrian Melangerie PreOrder service is available from one month to 48 hours before departure.

Each passenger can pre-order up to five meals and pay cashless on board.

The food choice includes hot meals and sandwiches, for example a vegetarian wrap or a Wiener Schnitzel. Passengers can also buy a wide range of meals, snacks and drinks on board.

The Wiener Schnitzel currently costs €12.50 (USD 12.95 / UKL 10.90) – and it comes in a cardboard box with wooden tools.

Austrian introduced buy on board (BOB) for economy passengers on European flights in March 2021.

SWISS, Austrian’s partner airline, introduced the pre-order service in April 2022. and buy on board (BOB) in 2018.
